Deep Work is Not a Coincidence

I regularly check the website of Entrepreneur to learn new things about having your own business. The page can give you franchising ideas, new business ideas, lessons on growing it, stories of rags-to-riches Pinoy entrepreneurs, etc. So basically, it has the power to inspire you to keep going with whatever business you already started/ have in mind.

Yesterday, I was scrolling the article about tips on changing your lifestyle to have a sideline business. (Here's the link if you are curious.Ow, perfect! I am a regular employee who already started an online jewelries and accessories shop. It is still on its young stage so I said to myself, maybe I should change some of my habits or twist my daily routine a little bit so I can maximize the growth of my business. With no second thought, I jumped into reading this editorial.

One of the tip is to increase the intensity of your work. The point is to give your best shot in whatever you do to finish it at the fastest time possible. Ika nga, magsuper sayan 3 ka na, o kaya, gamitan mo ng Sharingan para tapos na. (Better yet, use Super Sayan 3 power or Sharingan to wrap it up.) It also mentioned a book, Deep Work: Rules forFocused Success in a Distracted World by Cal Newport which mainly discussed how to achieve more in less time. Of course, being an obedient kid as I am, I already searched it in Google only to have a grasp of the book. It was never my intention to buy it due to my limited financial resources, so I decided to look for a free ebook or pdf file. But obviously, there is none.

During morning, I always make it a point to meet my husband Jeryl, given that he works night shift and I'm not. We catch up on our daily happenings over breakfast and I mentioned him that I wanted a book that was suggested by Entrepreneur which discussed about focusing and time management. He casually said, “Meron akong libro sa bahay, yung yellow.” (I have a book at home, it's yellow.) I don’t know, but is he aware he has a ton of books at home? I didn’t even know what yellow book it is! Maybe it was the time management book he saw at Fully Booked the other day.

When I got home, I went to bed to wake him up and I’m shookt! Beside him is this book.

Tada!!! He is right. I know. I know. He really mentioned the color! But I didn’t expect that this is the book that I wanted. I asked him why did he has it? He said that it has a high rating so he bought it from NBS

Coincidence? I don’t think so. My guess - it was destined for me to read it.
Oh dear, I will!

When the universe already gave you the will, power, and opportunity, might as well feel it, use it, and seize it!

Be inspire. Read. Save time.

Human Heart Nature Product Dealer... and Certified User

Ever since, it is my advocacy to patronize Pinoy products. I love to think that by buying our own, I am able to help Filipino workers. However, I would admit guys - it is inevitable to buy imported stuff.

Why? Simply because of its good quality.

There are many factors why Pinoy products do not maintain its high standard rating - one is the increasing labor costs, another is the growing production equipment and maintenance costs. It can also be the innovating technology that we cannot keep up with and so on. Tendency is, we were directed to choose items with low costs, sacrificing the quality of our products, just because our budget limit us to that. I'm no economist (please feel free to enlighten me) but hey, those factors are very obvious.

Human Heart Nature
But to look more deep in the market, there are other Philippine products worth recommending for. And now, I discover Human Nature.

DIY MINI COTTON “CANDY” INVITATIONS by Oh Happy Day!

DIY Mini Cotton "Candy" Invitations | Oh Happy Day!

I really have a soft spot for all things miniature. Anything that’s awesome in its regular size just gets oh so much more adorable in mini. So, when i was thinking of a fun way to invite friends to a little backyard carnival, the idea for these mini cotton candy invitations popped into my mind. Now, these are really not suitable for little kids – they might try eat the cotton, but older children and grown-ups like me will go crazy over these sweet things with the hidden message inside! You can use them as invitations like I do or you could make them as the carnival alternative to fortune cookies and hide little fortunes inside.
